Litt info fra Nicko:
"The decision was taken quickly after the game on Saturday...one top director told players he ´had to go.´
John Williams had stood by him for the extra match - I think he would have gone after Liverpool but the ´leaks´ possibly caused embarassment. But the chairmen knew too.
There was a big pow-wow on Monday, but that was to sort out finances and strategy - with a short-list already drawn up before the manager went.
Sam wasn´t the only one spoken to. Mancini got an interview. But Sam knows the score and what was needed, so got the vote.
Souey´s chances went when they decided to go long-term rather than short-term.
There WILL be money to spend, Sam has convinced them he knows how to spend. It could be on short-term deals or loan signings...because I can´t see to many rushing to join permanently in the current position.
It´s ironic that they came back to Sam, the original leak story proved to be correct. He was obviously in their thoughts after the Man U debacle.
Players were being consulted all the way through about what was going on. Some who have stood by Ince in public but a bit more honest in private.
Anyway, what is past is past.
Onwards and upwards etc."
