Hi Guys will try and give you a transfer run down, with as much as I can reveal without getting into too much trouble.
Scott Dann- My sources tell me Rovers spoke with the player and his agent on Monday and personal terms have been agreed, although a fee is yet to be agreed with his club. There is some confusion from a few sources as some say its a loan with a view to a permanent transfer, whilst others say he has been offered to other clubs since he spoke to Rovers, This is not my understanding, I have been told it will be a permanent transfer and we are hopeful it will be done today.
Yakubu- This is something I broke exclusively on Monday, as Rovers made an approach, however the Everton Chairman has persuaded the player to stay. This move is not completly dead and rovers may try again today especially as the players agent in Pini Zahavi who is not dealing with lots of rovers transfers for this window. Rovers are actively looking at Players under Zahavi's umbrella, which match different budgets.
Luca Toni- The player has been offered to Blackburn as a loan option, but is not considered an immediate priority, if all esle fails and deals failt to materilise Rovers may just bag him on loan, or if they get one of the 7 strikers they are actively chasing they may just add him as a loan late on today. However if I was sticking my neck on the line, I doubt he will be a Rovers player come 23.00 GB Time
Chamakh- Is a player who three different sources mentioned to me on Tuesday, Not sure if it has legs, but he is available and a loan move is not out of the question, He fits the type of player we are looking for but if he fancies a move to Rovers is questionable
Lansbury- This is a player Blackburn have been actively chasing for a few weeks on a permanent deal, The fee may be a problem as Arsenal want a decent price of around £3.5 million whilst Blackburn were thinking more £1.5- £2 Million. This may happen or a loan could be agreed
Chris Baird- Is a player who has been looked at over the last couple of days, as of yet no move or bid has been made, however Rovers have enquired so what happens with that today will be interesting.
Anelka- Was a player Rovers highlighted at the beginning of the window but got scared off by the asking price, It is beleived that the player may become available for loan and if he does an interest in the player may re-occur
Matavz- His move to PSV yesterday broke down, He was high on Blackburns wanted list when Jerome Anderson was controlling transfers, Now Anderson has been pushed to one side since the weekend, Rovers may still try and grab the talented forward, but he won't be cheap and it may mean one of two players may have to be sold to finance it. This is a move I consider a long shot, but not completly dead.
El Hamdoui- His move to the french league fell through on Tuesday as Lille bought a different player, he is still available at a sensible price, but again Jerome Anderson's involvement may have killed this deal, it remians to be seen if we can rescue this one
Nedum Onhuha- Blackburn placed a second bid for the player on Monday and are still waiting to see if its been accepted, the player wishes to stay in the north west of England and Rovers remain one of the favourites to get him.
David Bentley- I spoke with the club a few weeks ago regarding Bentley and was told there was no interest in the player. Late last night some sources claimed he will join Blackburn Today on loan, I have not heard this from the club and until i do its just a rumour and one i think is unlikely, others seem adament it will happen.
Omri Kanada- Was linked with the club and can play RB,CB and RM, he is 26 and currently plays for Hapoel Tel Aviv, I have not had this confirmed by the club and the source of the link has come from his homeland
Raul- Blackburn have not given up on Raul and a new bid was expected to go in last night, i'm not usre if it has but the vibes I got was that they would try one more time to bag him in this window
Jermaine Jones- Blackburn still like the player and another loan could happen, but it would have to be on better terms than last time as his loan cost a lot of money on loan fee, and expenses which were paid to agents and also the player, i.e housing ect
There are in total another 8 players who I have not mentioned who I know Blackburn are actively chasing both on permanent and loan deals, until the list gets split into definate targets I can't dsclose those names to you, as i dnt want to get into any trouble. However what I will say a couple of these are great players and if they choose to go down that line I'm sure we will all be thrilled
Out goings.
There is big interest in Samba , Olsson and Robinson plus one or two other players. Sales can't be ruled out of the prcie is right.
Samba- So far the club has recieved NO bids for Samba and clubs who have shown an interest to date only rate samba at £6 Million, Blackburn won't consider a sale unless they recieve bid of around £16 Million, I spoke with his brother on Tuesday night and his brother said "Samba will be staying" Hopefully that is the case.
I may not get back to the boards here today as I will be chasing transfer news in Person and also by telephone hopefully I will be active on twitter and will try and post on at least Vital Blackburn or BRFCS
This is an importnat 20 hours to come and i'm quietly confident that come 23.00 UK time that we will have the right players signed and sealed and we can look forward.
