The twin brother of Blackburn Rovers midfielder Martin Olsson is hoping to join him in the Premier League, reports BBC Sport.
Marcus Olsson, a left winger, has been in impressive form this season for Halmstads in his native Sweden.
The 22-year-old told BBC Sport: "Martin and I possess the same physical assets so I think I would adapt pretty fast to the intensity of the English style."
Martin Olsson, who joined Rovers from Hogaborgs in 2006, gained rave reviews last season after converting from left-back to the left of midfield and also made his senior debut for Sweden in June.
Marcus feels he could make a similar impression, adding: "I´ve been inspired by Martin´s progress. I´m more of an attacking player and like to run at defenders but, while he has improved his offensive play, I have improved the defensive side of my game.
"We play in different positions but I am proud of how he has established himself at Blackburn. I might go to another country first but my goal is to play in the Premier League."
His agent, former Sheffield United defender Jonas Wirmola, added: "Teams from Holland and the Bundesliga called earlier this year with concrete interest but a move to England is Marcus´s priority."
