Supporterintervju Wigan Athletic (H)I forkant av denne kampen har jeg kontaktet Jason Taylor i Wigan Athletic Supporters Club. Han er kritisk til de skyhøye lønningene i Premier League. Tro på seier har han også.Why Wigan Athletic, and how long? They are my home town team and I have supported them for 33 years.
Tell us about Wigan Athletic Supporters Club. How many members, what your position is etc.I am Head of Media and we have around 2,500 members.
How do you follow your team?I watch Latics every home game and try to get to as many away games as is possible.
Former SK Brann player, Paul Scharner, has now played more than a hundred mathces for you. What do you think of his efforts?Paul Scharner is a very good player (he thinks he is even better), he has seen some very good times with us and is now our longest serving player.
What were your expectations before this season? Satisfied so far?We thought we would finish comfortable mid table, given we have a new manager and a few new players and I still think that is achievable.
Players like Roy Carroll, Valencia, Palacios, Chimbonda, Bullard and Baines (and Amr Zaki) got their breakthrough for the Latics, but are now in other clubs. Isn’t it sad that once a player breaks through in small clubs like Blackburn or Wigan, then a bigger club will sign him and you’ll have to start all over again. What do you think about it?I really don´t mind, though in England the wages players get are ridiculous, how anybody is worth £150,000 - £200,000 per week is astonishing. The game is in danger of imploding if these demands are constantly met and bettered. As a club that finds good talent and then sells them on for huge profit, it basically has to happen because otherwise we would be bankrupt.
Former Wigan players, Chimbonda and Jason Roberts are now under contract with Blackburn. Do you miss any of them? Both were very good players for us, and both have contrasting attitudes aimed at them since leaving. Jason Roberts will always get a good reception for what he did at the club, Chimbonda on the other hand has had what he did playing for us forgotten due to the manner in which he left the club, he therefore always gets a bad response from us.
Det er ikke bare på Ewood Park at måltørken har fått et ansikt. You snatched manager Roberto Martinez and striker Jason Scotland from Swansea before this season. Scotland who scored 45 goals in 90 games for the Swans has played almost 20 games for you without even scoring goals. Do you think he’s finished? Do you have faith in Martinez? We have a lot of faith in Martinez as he has brought a style of play to Wigan that we thought we would never see, Jason Scotland is just struggling and needs a goal or two to set him off.
I guess you miss Jimmy Bullard? Not since he has been getting injured so much, great player for us though.
Who’s your favourite player on Wigan at the moment?Charles N´Zogbia, if you watch the game on Wednesday you will see why, he is quick and has fantastic ability.
N´Zogbia punkterte kampen mot Wolves med sin 2-0 scoring som også ble sluttresultatet. What relationship do you have to Blackburn?A good relationship as we have a lot of similarities, both have had local businessmen who came in and supported them in their time of need. Our chairman broke his leg for Blackburn in an FA Cup Final.
At DW Stadium December 26 th it ended 1 - 1. It is very evenly in the bottom, so this is a game that none of the teams can afford to lose. Which teams will get relegated this season?Wolves, Portsmouth and Burnley (although we don´t mind if Bolton swap with any of them.
Who´ll be in the starting eleven on Wednesday?Pollitt, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, Diame, Thomas, N´Zogbia, Rodallega, Scotland and Scharner.
What will be the score?0-2.
The Premier Champions of the 2009/10 season will be..Chelsea or United.
