FRIEDEL
BRAD gets off lightly and doesn´t get too much stick from the lads, but that´s probably because he´s one of those guys that rarely does anything that you can hammer him about. He´s just a really good pro, and he thoroughly deserves the success he´s had at Blackburn. Personally I rate Brad as one of the best keepers in the Premiership. Ever since I´ve been here he´s been different class.
LUCAS NEIL
I know Lucas from my Millwall days and he´s a good pal of mine. He´s got a reputation in the game as a hard man - and I think that´s warranted because he loves a hard tackle - but off the pitch he´s not aggressive at all. He´s been a major help to me at Blackburn and I´ll always be grateful to him for helping me settle in at the club. I think he´s a great lad, and I also don´t think there are many better right-backs in the Premiership.
ANDY TODD
(Centre-back)
I travel in with TODDY from my house in the Bolton area and he´s definitely one of my best mates these days. We have some great banter; he´s a funny lad. I tend to be a bit of a moody git in the mornings so I rely on Toddy to wake me up and get me going - and fair play to him, he does it well! By the time we get to training I´m in the mood for work. He´s regarded as a tough defender and rightly so, but he´s a little bit misunderstood in my opinion. He´s a tremendous character.
NELSEN
NELLY the New Zealander isn´t the best when it comes to dress sense I´m afraid. He´s got a collection of dodgy cardigans and some of his tennis trainers are a tad on the outdated side too! Not the best. On the pitch though, I have to say that Nelly has been a revelation. He came here as a trialist but impressed enough to get a contract and he hasn´t looked back. He´s taken the Premiership by storm and has to go down as one of Mark Hughes´ best ever signings.
MICHAEL GRAY
(Left-back)
Michael´s my room-mate and to be honest he isn´t the worst person I´ve ever shared with. He does have an annoying habit of chatting non-stop on his phone when we´re in the room, though. I´ve lost count of the number of times I´ve been trying to have a lie in when Michael´s woke me up because he´s rabbiting on his mobile! I´m not the most tolerant in the mornings, so it does get up my nose a bit. Apart from that he is a legend. I´ve got a lot of admiration for the way he´s fought his way back into the manager´s plans and to be fair, he´s playing superbly.
SAVAGE
Yes, Robbie Savage is as lively as his reputation suggests! He is a real livewire. SAVS gets absolutely hammered by fans of other teams and when he first joined us I was wary of him, but I can´t fault him. He´s been a breath of fresh air at the club and everyone loves him to bits. He takes the mickey out of everyone all the time and is definitely one of the funniest players I´ve ever met. If the team spirit is down after a few defeats you can rely on Savs to make everyone laugh and get them up again.
TUGAY
(Midfield)
Tugay has to be one of the most talented players I have ever played with; he´s got so much skill and ability it´s frightening. If only he was ten years younger - Blackburn would have themselves one of the best midfielders around if that was the case. He´s a quiet man, but when he does get involved in the banter he´s pretty funny. On the pitch Tugay has helped me a great deal. I´ve learned loads of stuff from him about playing in the middle of the park.
MGP
Question marks have got to be raised about Morten´s choice of underwear. He gets a load of pants sent over from Norway and they are normally in that tight cycling short style. I recently saw him wearing some lycra fluorescent pink boxer shorts. Shocking! On a Saturday though, we can´t have any complaints because Morten has blossomed into one of the best left-sided players in the country. He´s got a lucky knack of scoring goals and long may it continue.
BELLAMY
Like Robbie Savage, when he signed for us BELLERS wasn´t the most popular character in the Premiership, but since he´s been here he´s been as good as gold. Don´t get me wrong, Bellers is the biggest moaner I have ever played with but apart from that he´s OK! He´s such a moaner it´s unbelievable, but he only does it because he wants to win so much. He´s also the fastest player at Ewood Park too; he´s rapid. With that pace and his ability he´s proved to be a superb signing for the club.
PAUL DICKOV
(Striker)
DICKY is a brilliant lad. Over the past few years he´s been a highly important goalscorer for the club and now that he´s a bit older, his experience is proving to be really valuable too. He´s a nice family man these days and a good friend too. I´ve found him really easy to talk to when I´ve needed a friendly ear to listen, and he normally comes up with some top advice.
SHEFQI KUQI
(Striker)
SHEKQI is always happy and is rarely seen without a smile. He´s a legend! When we turn up in the mornings feeling a bit down in the dumps you can rely on Shefki to cheer you up and make you laugh. His famous celebration is unique to say the least, but take it from me, that chest of his is pretty strong! He´s always in the gym and all that hard work seems to mean that he´s able to land on his chest from great heights!
